Contour TRL

Over time and after years of sun exposure, wrinkles and pigment can become deep and etched.  The Contour TRL™ safely removes full layers of skin to a depth determined by the provider. The depth of treatment will depend on the skin condition, your desired outcome and expectation for downtime. Treating skin with this laser stimulates the growth of new collagen, which improves the skin’s thickness and elasticity.  The skin surface will also re-grow with fresh, healthy cells, which will give your skin a younger, rejuvenated appearance.  This laser has the ability to yield very dramatic results with just one treatment. Dr. Desai loves using this laser to get rid of those stubborn lines around the eyes and mouth, but it can be used almost anywhere. 

What to Expect

Topical numbing is applied for 1 hour before the treatment.  If needed, oral analgesics are also given at the time of topical numbing, in the office to help with any discomfort. Most people describe a feeling of hot rapid pin pricks into the skin. When the treatment is complete, the skin will feel very warm, looking and feeling like a deep sunburn; there may even be pinpoint bleeding and swelling, which is normal.  Over the next week the skin will heal and each day the redness will be less and less.  Over the healing phase you will be very gentle with your skin only applying what is in the post procedure healing kit.  While the skin looks fresher within 2 weeks,  by the end of the first month most people will notice the effect of new collagen production. It can take up to 3 months to appreciate all the affects of the treatment.  TRL achieves a permanent remodeling of the skin, and should be repeated as needed to achieve the desired results.
