Dermal Fillers
During the natural aging process we all lose volume in our faces leading to wrinkles, sagging skin, prominent nasolabial folds, thinned lips, exaggerated jowls, and marionette lines. The natural resorption of underlying bone, soft tissue and fat contributes to a hollowed, aged appearance. Dermal fillers are injected below the skin surface to correct age-related volume loss. At Pure Dermatology and Aesthetics, we use hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane to re-contour the cheeks, lips, chin, jawline , and temples, while still preserving a natural youthful appearance. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of your skin’s make-up so these fillers are very safe and easily reversible.

What to Expect
Topical numbing is applied for 45 min. The injection process takes between 30-60 min depending on the areas being treated. During your pre-treatment evaluation, we will discuss how many syringes you may need to get the look you desire. You may need more or less than the amounts listed. You may elect to treat only one area or multiple areas during the same visit. You will see immediate results from your Dermal Filler treatment. The results last up to a year on average. Some facial areas that are highly mobile such as the lips tend to wear off slightly sooner, while other fillers in certain areas are designed to last up to 2 years. Initially some swelling/bruising is possible which subsides over several days. To minimize bruising it is recommended to avoid the following substances for 10-14 days prior to your treatment as these may increase bruising:
Aspirin, Aleve, Ibuprofen (Advil), Naproxen and other non steroidal anti-inflammatories.
Steroids such as prednisone and others.
Vitamin E
Fish Oil
Blood thinners such as Clopidogrel (Plavix), Dipyridamole (Persantin), Warfarin (Coumadin) and Heparin.
Health food store items such as St. John’s Wort, Ginseng, Garlic, Ginko, Green Tea, Kava, Celery Root, Black Cohash and Flax Seed
It is OK to take Tylenol (acetaminophen).
