Hair Loss

Hair loss can be one of the most frustrating issues to deal with.  There are many factors that can contribute to hair loss. Dr. Desai will go over all the relevant questions and factors that play a role in your hair loss and she may suggest Platelet Rich Plasma injections (PRP.) PRP is taken from the patients own blood. This liquid gold contains growth factors and signals that our body needs to stimulate new hair growth and healing. This gold is then injected back into the scalp where is it most needed. 

What to Expect

Your blood will be drawn when you arrive at the office for this treatment, so it is important to be well hydrated. The injections will then be performed. A cooling device is used for comfort. The injections are quick and easy. The scalp may be sore or tender for 24 hours after the treatment. Ice can be used for comfort. This treatment is done as a series of at least 4 treatments spaced about 1 month apart for optimal results.
